Five young entrepreneurs recently developed and launched Gigamunch, an app that connects people who love to cook and people who love to eat. Users are able to find local chefs in the area and order from a menu that consists of a large variety of food. Delivery is available and chefs are able to make money by doing what they love.
Browse changing menu items (use tags like specific dietary needs, type of food and spice level) and even request items to see if any home cooks can satisfy that craving you have had for weeks. The app lists the food description with photos and ingredients, when the food is ready, information about the cook and ratings, and distance.
The idea came about at a casual get together between a group of friends.
"One night, we were having dinner at Atish’s house, and his mom made us amazing Indian food. We talked about how awesome it would be if you could buy her homemade food whenever you want. We decided to enter the idea into a business competition at our school. We fell in love with the idea as we worked on it, and ended up winning first place."
