Susan Stone is an established ceramic artist in the Upper Cumberland, creating handcrafted stoneware and hand-printed home goods with uplifting, colorful designs. Her signature birds are delightfully whimsical.

“Everything I make is designed to be joyful, eco-friendly and easy to use, from your favorite coffee mug to the tote bag you take to the farmer’s market.”

Rick creates his treasures with anything from solid hardwoods to colored pencils in order to create something unique. Wooden Treasures TN has a beautiful selection of bowls and platters for the avid entertainer. Their pepper mills and coffee grinders are a great novelty finds, bringing back memories of pencil sharpeners from days gone by with their hand cranks. Or a one-of-a-kind turkey call may be just the thing you need for your Thanksgiving prep this fall.

Lauren is a painter, illustrator, and frequent flier. “My main goal in creating art is finding and sharing the many lovely things that surround us at home and as we travel to new places around the world. And my work is often inspired by the little things: a cup of coffee, house plants, nature.”

Lauren also loves creating custom pieces for her clients of their homes and families.

Amy began designing jewelry in 2009 and found a passion for creating beautiful pieces.

“I absolutely love it! I love being able to show my creativity through each piece.”

She incorporates hand stamped metal into most of her pieces, which allows her to create custom pieces. This jewelry line would make a great gift for anyone.

Like so many artists, Jami started her business simply because she loved it – she loved working with wood. She worked as a nurse for 18 years before switching gears and building swings. Yes, The Sawdust Pile carries outdoor swings, as well as perfectly charming seasonal items, home decor, coffee tables, bookshelves and the like. She also creates custom signs from 6 inches all the way up to more than 6 feet. Everything is handmade from solid wood by Jami herself.

Bunny hand-crafts and hammers solid copper jewelry. You can find pendant necklaces, beautiful bracelets, rings, and stunning earrings in her online shop.

Bunny also creates unique copper/etched hummingbird feeders.

Visit her website to discover her newest pieces and where you can shop in-person.

Cookeville native Morgan Johnson took over Simple Beef Co in July, 2020 after interning with the popular local business for a while.

“One thing led to the next, and now I am the owner and am blessed beyond measure to get the opportunity to provide our community with fresh, local, pasture raised beef! We know what our cows are being fed and who feeds them. Raised on pasture, and given some non-GMO blends of grain for marbling–our cows get to graze and eat the way creation intended. No hormones, additives or any of the junk you can’t read on a label–just Simple Beef, every time!”

Farm fresh flowers delivered to your special someone (or to yourself)!  These locally grown bouquets and arrangements easily outshine and outlive anything you can buy in stores.

Our beautiful flowers are grown locally, so they support native pollinators and the local economy. Gifting our bouquets means you’re doing three good deeds in one!

Give the gift of Spring this holiday season and shop with Petal and Rake.

Jordan started knitting in high school. “After that, I fell into an endless world of textile wonders,” he explains. “I love how people become a canvas when wearing clothes they enjoy. Everybody likes to look good and feel good. So, that’s the goal of my artwork. I use yarn work to encourage people to like the way they look.”

Many of Jordan’s pieces are one-of-a-kind, mostly because he never stops making new patterns.

Barnes Woodshop creates outdoor yard games (think Kubb, giant Jenga, or a mega-sized connect four set) and classic vintage games, all of which are too little enjoyed by our fast-paced world. Pub skittles, or “table bowling,” would be just the thing for a family hangout space. Or try Cronkinole, a classic Canadian pub game. Jeremy loves to share new games with people, and even writes a great blog that teaches gameplay to willing readers. You’ll find it all on his website.

“Going Natural is a Good Thing!”

Pamper your friends and family with these handmade and delicious smelling soaps.

KM Creations began as a greeting card company. Kathy, the creator, has been able to sell her beautiful cards in outlets for more than ten years.

Several years ago, however, she started making crocheted toys and animals, and with the combination of these two items, the rest is history! Kathy’s sweet animals and cards were hugely popular at our first Made Here Market. (Really, you could hardly ask for a more perfect baby gift!) KM Creations will also create custom items.

Music To My Ears Jewelry was born from the mundane act of cleaning house. Not wanting to dispose of so many CDs, artist Malia Meyer, began experimenting.

After much trial and error, she eventually developed a process that achieved consistent and  beautiful results.

The artist is a member of the Tennessee Craft Guild and has been making jewelry out of CDs for 5 years.  In 2019, she was chosen as one of 15 Emerging Artists at the Gasperilla Festival of the arts in Tampa, FL.

Brimming with superstitious sailors, rugged cowboys, and catastrophic events, Nickel’s Luck is a coming-of-age tale that takes readers on an epic journey. It is a coastal prairie story based upon real events of a town that history has largely forgotten.

Written by Tennessee local S.L. Mathews, now an award winning historical author.

Matthews’ website carries autographed copies of Nickel’s Luck and her 19th Century murder-mystery short, Ravens in the Graveyard.

Photographs and prints featuring nature scenes from across the Upper Cumberland.

From Andrea:

“I feel most at home in nature, and spend a lot of time out on the trail having as many adventures as possible. I moved to this area several years ago and fell in love with the scenery. Most of my work is from hiking trips, and started as a way for me to remember the peace and clarity being outside brings me. If my photography can capture any of that feeling for others, I feel like I’ve succeeded.”

Leah Looper is an art educator and illustrator in Cookeville, Tennessee. Classic children’s books such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Winnie-the-Pooh inspire and encourage Leah on her journey of being an illustrator.

“I am always humbled when asked to illustrate something. I know that whoever or whatever I am painting, is incredibly loved and special to someone. Illustration is capturing the way someone or something looks and combining that with their story and how they make us feel.” Leah Looper illustrates everything from pets and places to children and families to custom family recipes.

Karen Vaden creates card games with a biblical lesson. Use this fun game to teach your friends, family, or bible study about Revelations.
